What is water footprint? It includes indicators of direct and indirect use of water by a consumer or producer. The water footprint can be calculated for a process, a product, a consumer, a consumer group (a municipality, a region, or an entire state), or a producer (e.g., a private enterprise, a public organization). |
We will evaluate the water footprint according to three parameters:
1. Blue Footprint: the volume of surface water and groundwater consumed as a result of production of a good or service.
2. Green Footprint: the volume of rainwater consumed in the production process. The indicator is especially relevant for agricultural and forestry industries.
3. Gray Footprint: the volume of fresh water required to assimilate pollutant load based on natural background concentrations and environmental quality standards.

The action plan will include recommendations on the introduction of water-saving technologies, differentiated control and optimization of water consumption metering, calculation of the economic benefits of the proposed solutions.
We will put into practice the approved water management plan. We will coordinate interaction with partners and project procurements; develop information materials for all target audiences of your organization; hold lectures and workshops for employees on water footprint in their everyday life. After the first month of the new system's operation, we will summarize and evaluate quantitative and qualitative results.
